Privacy notice

Guest Doodle is a UK business making personalised tea towels from drawings made by wedding and event guests. We are the data controller for the information described here. You can contact us at hello@guestdoodle.co.uk.

• Enquiry details: your name, email address, event date, guest numbers and any message you send us.
• Delivery details: the postal address you give us for sending your kit and finished order.
• Order details: what you ordered, correspondence with us, and payment status. Card payments are handled by our payment provider — we never see or store your full card details.
• Guest drawings: the portrait cards returned to us, including any name a guest writes on their card.
• Basic website and email data needed to run the site and reply to you.

• To answer enquiries and fulfil your order — necessary to take steps at your request and to perform our contract with you.
• To keep records of orders and payments — legal obligation (tax and accounting).
• To improve our products and service — our legitimate interests, balanced against your privacy.
• To show artwork publicly (for example on our website or social media) — only with your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.

Your guests' cards are posted to us, scanned and cleaned up so they can be printed. We keep the digital scans and the original cards while your order is in progress.

• Originals returned: we return the original cards to you with your finished order by default, so the drawings stay yours.
• If you ask us to dispose of them: we securely recycle the cards after your order is complete.
• Digital scans: kept for 12 months after delivery so we can reprint or correct an order, then deleted unless you ask us to keep them for longer.
• Publicity: we will not publish your artwork, names or event details anywhere public unless you have given us permission.

We only share what is necessary with the suppliers that help us run the business: our website and database hosting provider, our email provider, our payment provider and our printing and delivery partners. They act on our instructions and are not allowed to use your data for their own purposes. We never sell your data.

Enquiries that do not become orders: up to 12 months. Order and payment records: six years, as required for UK tax purposes. Digital scans of drawings: 12 months after delivery unless you ask otherwise.

Under UK GDPR you can ask us for a copy of your data, ask us to correct or delete it, object to or restrict how we use it, ask for it in a portable format, and withdraw consent where we rely on it. Email hello@guestdoodle.co.uk and we will respond within one month.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

This site uses only the essential cookies and local storage needed to make pages work and to keep the site secure. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking profiles.
